“College is no longer an option, but a necessity.” Mrs. Strange is a native of Dallas, TX. She attended traditional DISD public high school where is excelled academically as well excelled as student leader. She went on and graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminology. While in college Mrs. Strange had a challenging time as she experienced the education gap first hand. She graduated at the top of her high school class, but found herself struggling as a first generation college student. She continued to push herself and in college and was able to make strides of improvement. Mrs. Strange was very active in college and successful worked multiple jobs, lead and participated in multiple student organizations. Mrs. Strange is most proud that along with 7 other women she founded the first Christian sorority in the state of Kansas, Beta Sigma Chi Christian Sorority Inc. Check it out! www.bsc2005.com.
Mrs. Strange has worked in college admissions for over 6 years and most recently worked with a charter school supporting students from 9th grade till college completion. Mrs. Strange has worked for Oklahoma State University, The University of Oklahoma and Texas A&M University. She has a passion for helping students pursue post secondary education and is super excited to bring her knowledge, spunk and overall passion to the YWLA. Mrs. Strange enjoys serving at church, doing community work, family time, singing, makeup, and hair. Her motto is, “with the right attitude and the right tools, anyone can accomplish anything! “
